(AUSTIN) — The Texas Lyceum will install Molly Quirk as President and also swear in 22 new Directors on Friday, Jan. 19 in the House Chamber of the Texas Capitol.

Sept. 9, 2023 – The Texas Lyceum, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, statewide leadership organization, has announced the appointment of Crayton Webb, Texas Lyceum Class of 2018, as the organization’s president elect for 2024. 

(AUSTIN) — The Texas Lyceum will install Reda M. Hicks as President and also swear in 16 new Directors on Jan. 26 in the Texas Capitol. The Texas Lyceum is a nonpartisan, nonprofit leadership organization that helps identify future leaders from across Texas and provides a forum for a civil discussion of challenges facing the state. The investitures of Hicks and the new Directors will kick off the Lyceum’s annual Public Conference, which will be held Jan. 26-28 and focus on “a Lyceum Look at Elections.”

Dallas, Texas - The Texas Lyceum’s annual poll, published today, finds a majority of Texans saying that they spend too much on housing and that the cost of living for necessities in the area where they live is either "poor" or "terrible." Concerns about costs come as the state grapples with ongoing economic troubles stemming from the continued fallout from the coronavirus pandemic, ongoing inflationary concerns, and rising energy prices exacerbated by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

The Texas Lyceum will hold its annual Public Conference (PubCon) this week titled Texas in the 2020’s: Prospects, Pathways & Power where Lyceum Directors and leaders from across the state will explore major issues like healthcare, politics, and growth that will either make or break Texas over the remainder of this decade. The event will be held March 31 – April 1, 2022 at the Omni Frisco at The Star – the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters and practice facility. The annual poll results press conference will be held on Friday, April 1 and will focus on Texas adults’ attitudes about the economy and how that compares to past Texas Lyceum polls. Media are invited to attend any of the opening remarks or breakout sessions scheduled throughout March 31 and April 1.

AUSTIN, TEXAS – The Texas Lyceum will make history during its annual investiture ceremony on Friday, January 14. For the first time since its establishment in 1980, the organization will swear in a woman of color to lead the statewide nonprofit organization as its new president:  Dallas Citizens Council’s Vice President of Strategy and Public Affairs, Sarah Jackson. This week’s annual ceremony will also welcome 16 new directors from across Texas.

As the State of Texas evolves, grows, and diversifies, our Lyceum mission has become more important than ever. Our diverse network of over a thousand directors and alumni convenes regularly to focus on national and state issues, and acts as a catalyst to initiate constructive, private, public, and individual responses to these issues.  

In her role as president elect, Hicks will serve as part of the 2022 Lyceum leadership team which will include Sarah Jackson as president and Castlen Kennedy as chairman. Hicks will serve as president of the organization in 2023. Hicks was nominated and approved for the role by the organization’s directorship. Previously, Hicks served as an executive committee member and co-chair of two prior Texas Lyceum conferences.

Reda is a native Texan, born and raised in Odessa and a current resident of Humble.  Professionally, she is a Vice President at Burford Capital LLC and is the founder of GotSpot, Inc. Personally, she supports impact-driven engagement in her community through Leadership Houston, the League of Women Voters Houston, and Impact Hub Houston. Further, Hicks is a proud army spouse and works to support military families at the local, state, and national levels through Military Family Advisory Network and Bunker Labs and is a founding member of the Military Spouse JD Network, the bar association for military spouse attorneys. Hicks graduated from the University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate studies and the University of California Berkeley for her juris doctorate.

The presentation of the Stewardship of Texas Values Awards marks an occasion for the Lyceum community to gather and renew friendships necessary to the continued success of the networking process.

AUSTIN - The Texas Lyceum will swear in Houston energy executive Castlen Kennedy as its 2021 president and welcome 16 new directors from across Texas during its annual Investiture ceremony on January 28 in Austin, Texas. The outgoing president - Austin’s Laura Dixon - will move into the role of Chair and Dallas public affairs executive and civic strategist Sarah Jackson will be formally named President-elect for 2022. The appointments of Dixon, Kennedy and Jackson will mark the first time The Texas Lyceum has been led by a trio of women.

(AUSTIN)  The Texas Lyceum, a nonprofit, nonpartisan statewide leadership organization announced today that Laura Dixon of Austin has been named the 2020 Texas Lyceum president. Dixon has been on the leadership team at Spurs Sports and Entertainment since 2009. She led community engagement for five professional sports franchises and served as Executive Director of Silver and Black Give Back. In 2017 she was named head of external relations for the parent company. Dixon earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and her Master of Business Administration from the McCombs School at the University of Texas at Austin.
