At What Price? The Hidden Costs of Housing in Texas
February 6-8, 2020 | Waco, Texas

Texas communities are among the fastest-growing in the nation. While direct housing costs are increasing in both the rental and sale markets, indirect costs, such as property taxes, can make it hard for homeowners to stay in their homes. The cost of housing is interconnected with tax laws, land use, transportation plans, schools, health, economic growth, and job creation. It is also interesting to know that past and present housing policies impact the social, equitable, and financial fabrics of our communities. The Hidden Costs of Housing In Texas meeting explores those issues and aims to identify what Texas cities can do to avoid the housing problems impacting other communities.

In conjunction with this meeting, The Texas Lyceum will also host The Texas Lyceum 2020 Poll Press Conference and the Class of 2020 New Director Orientation and Investiture Ceremony.
